like coal under pressure…

Perhaps this is something many people do not know.  Perhaps this is information that people maybe choose to look over and would rather have large quantities of the end result.

Diamonds are beautiful arn’t they.  I think it would be safe to say that every girl one day desires to wear on on her left hand…some may even say: ‘the bigger the better.’  Have you ever wondered though…how are diamonds formed?  How are they made?  Although the following may be technical, there is so much more that lay beyond and in-between the lines.

Read below:

Diamonds formed as crystals and are composed of pure carbon (C). Where most gems are a combination of elements, the diamond is one of the few stones that is made up of one single element.  They take their form under tremendous heat and pressure. The only place where these types of conditions exist are deep beneath the Earth’s surface. The depth that diamonds are formed is about 150km to200km (90 to 120 miles) below the surface and at temperatures ranging from 900 to 1300 on the Celsius scale. When these two actions are interacting together, Carbon atoms are literally forced together combining in cubic molecular formation, and ultimately creating diamond crystals. This is how diamonds are formed.

Let’t take what we know so far and apply it to our lives.  Are you feeling like the heat has been turned up in your life?  Are you feeling under pressure…perhaps from work, home, school, etc?  Just think of the diamond…  Your situation may look bleak…your future dark (much like a piece of coal…black).  But I believe that you will get through this.  The Bible says:

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.  We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.

(2 Corinthians 4:7-9).

Take hope and allow your faith to grow.  I know without a shadow of a doubt that the Lord is in control.  Though coal is almost as common as dirt, once under extreme duress, pressure and heat diamonds form…an outcome that is rare.   Before a diamond becomes a diamond it goes through several phases…it goes from carbon to coal,  coal to lead, and lead to a diamond.  You must endure the pressures of this life and perhaps you must sweat it out and wait on the Lord.  Life is a process and your situation will change.  Would you rather stop the process and be left with lead, or would your rather stick it out and make it to the end.  Realize this, the end is so much sweeter than the beginning.

Look off and up and see that the Lord has so much more for you than your current situation.  He is creating a diamond…a jewel of great worth.  Your life [in this moment] is just like coal under pressure…finish the process!
